Ramidreju

The ramidreju is a small weasel like monster from Cantabrian mythology. This small creature resembles a weasel or marten. It has a long body, green striped fur and yellow eyes. The ramidreju also has a hog like face with tusks.

Ramidrejus are very rare. A single individual is born to a weasel or marten every 100 years. They live in the mountains and forests of Cantabria, a region in northern Spain.

Ramidrejus are very sought after. People would keep an eye out for one whenever they were out in the woods. This is because the ramidreju had several helpful abilities. First it had an impeccable sense for finding gold. It was able to route out gold nuggets with its hog nose in the same manner that hogs dig up truffles. In addition to this the ramidreju’s fur and skin were able to cure any disease just by rubbing the creature on the ill person. Because of these qualities, finding a ramidreju was considered to be exceptionally lucky.
